What to revisit when your home and auto needs change
A move, new driver, or vehicle purchase can change your insurance questions. Use these simple prompts to prepare for a home and auto coverage conversation.

Start with what has changed
A policy that made sense last year may be worth another look after a move, a home renovation, a newly licensed driver, or a new vehicle. The purpose of a review isn’t to assume something is wrong—it’s to make sure your current circumstances are part of the conversation.
For a home, note changes to where you live, how you use the property, and any major improvements or valuable belongings you want to discuss. For a vehicle, think about who drives it, how it is used, and whether you’ve added or replaced a car.
Bring three questions to the conversation
1. What does this policy address? Ask what the major coverage categories are intended to do, and where limits or exclusions may matter to your situation.
2. What would I pay if I had a covered loss? A premium is only one part of the decision. Talk about deductibles and how they apply.
3. Is anything separate? In Texas, it can be useful to ask about flood coverage rather than assuming it is included in a homeowners policy. Your agent can help you identify topics that require a separate discussion.
Make the next step easy
You don’t need to know insurance terminology to get started. Tell us what changed and what you want to understand better. We can help you discuss home and auto options in plain language. Actual terms, availability, and coverage depend on the policy and insurer.
